Tamagawa TBL-iII Servo Motor

NDC ServoLab's dedicated R & D team have been busy finalizing the latest breakthroughs in the programming and testing of Serial and Smart Encoders on Tamagawa TBL-iII Servo Motors


Within the manufacturing and packaging industries, especially  plants that use Okura robots and palletising systems, you  will already know that the Tamagawa range of  motors are common, within the sector. You will be pleased to know that NDC have worked hard to ensure that there is now a solution when a failure occurs.

NDC ServoLab - R & D Manager outlines the problem ensuring the repaired servo motor is set up to the OEM Specification, post repair.

 

“These motors use serial encoders of different resolutions, providing, 11-12 bit resolutions for a single turn in order to get the maximum counts or pulses. There are some versions of these encoders which also carry the motor and the drive data, programmed in an eprom on the encoder”

 

The setup and programming of these encoders is a key element in the working of these motors, which, if not carried out correctly, could cause a lot of damage to the drive and the motor.  Following extensive reverse engineering of the Tamagawa encoders, motors and drives the R & D team now have a ‘TEST-DIAGNOSE-REPAIR-TEST’ procedure for Tamagawa servo motors along with a fully integrated test rig.
