Investment Completes Support For Otis Gen2 Drives And Motors

(MAY 19, 2015)

NDC's R&D team are constantly seeking to drive continuous improvement and innovation in our business and to expand the range of supported elevator systems for our customers.

The team has recently completed an 18 month long project to design, build and commission a test suite to interrogate and simulate the operation of Otis Gen2 drives and motors.

A thorough understanding of elevator technology, allied to the capability to develop sophisticated test facilities is now imperative in the repairs market as systems become increasingly too complex and integrated for the general 'have-a-go' electronics companies to cope with. This is why NDC has always backed our R&D team with the focused investment required to deliver comprehensive and specialist world class solutions.

NDC's R&D Director explains, " We understand the shift in the complexity of elevator technology and the expectations this places on companies operating in the repairs market. It has really marginalised the local 'have-a-go' motor rewinder and general electronics repairer, and that gives NDC an opportunity to step-up and fully meet those challenges. This latest addition to our portfolio of supported MRL technologies is indicative of our policy to satisfy the demand for these services and closely mirrors the global roll-out of our Kone V3F drive and motor services in 2013. We are already embarking on our next OEM drive and motor project and expect to commission a new test capability in the coming months, so stand by for our next exciting and innovative development - our customers will be the first to know".

This progress into the Gen2 systems has followed-on quickly from NDC's construction of a suite of test systems for other Otis products including the; OVF1, OVF10, OVF20, OVF20CR & OVF30 and the MCS310 / Gamma 160 SCR drives.

Please contact your local NDC Service Centre to learn more about these, and other supported MRL drive and motor technologies.
