Investment Results In Improved Downtimes For Customers

NDC makes regular investments to ensure that we have a broad range of updated test facilities that reflect our customers service commitments. Crucially, this enables our Engineers to execute diagnostic testing routines on receipt of a faulty drive, and to subsequently prove the completed repair work prior to despatch of the drive.


As reported in the May edition of Elevator News - our R&D Team recently completed an 18 month long project to design, build and commission a test suite to interrogate and simulate the operation of Otis Gen2 drives and motors following their repair in our Service Centres.

This investment has meant that in addition to checking the drives power and supply stages, we can also monitor the communications and higher level control circuitry.

This has been a significant development leading to much faster diagnostic assessments and repair solutions for customers, ultimately resulting in lifts being returned to service with improved downtimes.

As the Gen2 is increasingly incorporated into service contracts by our customers, we are confident that we can deliver a cost-effective, technically robust repair within a short turnaround window. Alternatively, customers can also take advantage of our next day service-exchange solution to Gen2 drive failure.
