Engineers at NDC Manchester effect drive repair during production downtime window

A facilities management company servicing the site of a missile systems manufacturer recently sought NDCs assistance to turnaround a failed Fenner / Yaskawa drive unit (CIMR G3E-4015).

NDC were advised that the job had to be completed within a tight production window. Given this, the drive was collected early morning and inspected at our service centre on an emergency basis. A number of faults were identified including; dry joints, corroded tracks and leaky capacitors. Our engineers managed to source and replace all defective parts the same day, all the dry joints and damaged tracks were reflowed, and the drive fully function tested. It was returned to site that same afternoon.
