Rexroth Hydraulic Digital Amplifier Repair Service

(14/12/2007)
NDCís Midlands Service Centre has recently developed testing and repair procedures for a range of advanced digital solenoid control amplifiers manufactured by Rexroth Hydraulics.

The proportional valve controllers utilise similar electronic control methods to many basic programmable motor drives with position feedback. The VT-VRPD series allow the control of single or multiple hydraulic axes with the option of 16 different ramp profiles simply selected either through use of a programmable logical sequence or through binary selection using 4 opto-isolated digital inputs.

Although the repair of these units presents few technical problems, the testing of the units is quite a complex process. In order to test the units it is necessary to use Rexroth’s BODIV software combined with an RS485 serial link, which is used both to programme and test the units aswell as controlling multiple valve solenoids.

Rob Corner, Service Centre Manager commented

"The announcement of these capabilities has attracted interest from a number of industries that traditionally rely heavily on hydraulics and it is something that we are planning on investing in heavily during 2008."
