NDC repair, test and commission drive and motor application

(13/03/2008)
An NDC site services team recently attended the plant of a large switchgear manufacturer that had lost production of critical LV components.

A bespoke material feed unit and 125T mechanical press had failed, causing the loss of pressed-parts at the plant, primarily contacts for LV contactors.

NDC engineers quickly identified overload faults and decided to remove the Parker Digiplan stepper drive and its associated motor for rectification work at our Manchester Service Centre.  The Parker PKH130M series of stepper drives provides for protection  against short circuits and operates at a maximum frequency of 100kHz @ 2000 steps/rev.  Our engineers were able to fully resolve the overload problems and rigorously test both drive and motor before returning to site in order to commission the application.
